Will paint pens wash off plastic cups in the dishwasher? - plastic cups

I have my girls with plastic cups day for children of preschool age. I wonder if the ink to survive from the pen of paint / painting the dishwasher. Can I Sharpies, but I prefer to paint, use pencils, so that it will take. Thank you!
